TAMPA - Considering the brain trust he has at his disposal as assistants, Steinbrenner boys cross country coach Bobby McConnell says it's not too surprising his squad finished second at Tuesday's West Hillsborough Invitational at Al Lopez Park.

Whenever he needs a little advice, all McConnell has to do is ask former Largo coach Brent Haley or ex-Leto coach Bobby Ennis. Between those two state icons of the sport, there's a total of 17 state championships - including the 1995 crown Leto captured when McConnell was a senior there.
